Windham, NY— 5:00 PM EDT — Town Supervisor Thomas Hoyt announced today that the draft Short-Term Rentals Law scheduled to be the subject of a public hearing on January 14, 2021 will be the subject of a resolution at the December 10th Town Board meeting to cancel the hearing.
“While there are calls to address short-term rentals in the Town, the draft local law has not been well received and will be withdrawn,” said Hoyt.
Short-term rentals are an important part of the Town’s economy for property owners as well as the many local businesses that serve the short-term rental market.
“The quality of life in Windham and protection of property values is our biggest concern,” said Hoyt, “We will continue to work with the community to maintain our Town.”
